This and that.

To the left is the current cover of Taylor Hicks’ forthcoming memoir, Heart Full of Soul. I say “current” because…ahh…it’s kind of ugly. But that’s just my aesthetic opinion; from a marketing standpoint, I guess it does jump out at you.

Taylor also made the cover of another book–the People Magazine 2006 Yearbook.

And as a bonus, the National Ledger reviewed LiMBO’s debut album (available on iTunes):

“Displaying some of the best the south has to offer, LiMBO will take the music world by storm with their self-titled debut album. As Sam says on “South Land,” “pass the grits because I’m [definitely] down with it.” Pick the album up tomorrow from iTunes. You’ll be glad you did.”

Interesting that while the Ledger’s Shirley Kennedy was quite vocal about her dislike for Taylor during Idol’s run, she now seems to have chugged the LiMBO Kool-Aid.

And in season six spoiler news, rumor has it that Sabriena Stone, one of the most-buzzed-about contestants, unfortunately got the axe during Hollywood Week. I’d listened to some of her original music over at MJ’s, and I have to say that while I liked the tone of her voice, I wasn’t too crazy about her style. After the Reign of Daughtry, I wasn’t looking forward to AI turning into a watered-down version of Rock Star (I mean…there’s a reason I don’t watch Rock Star). So while I won’t lose any sleep over the elimination of a potential rawkergrrrrrrl, the bigger part of me that enjoys seeing unconvential musicians on the Idol stage is kind of sad.

I am truly NOT feeling the red cover for that book. It’s kinda harsh, especially compared to all the blue hues we’ve been getting in the album publicity shots.

And LiMBO’s album kicks some serious butt! I think it’s funny that the reviewer quoted my favorite line!

What the kids are sayin’

"I hate them all. The judges, TPTB, the blatant manipulation, the songs, the contestants, everything. I'm a die-hard Cook fan, but for the love of god, at least try to look like you're enjoying yourself up there! Please? Syesha was awesome but she ruined it by being completely shameless and disgusting. Yes, being on American Idol is exactly like the civil rights movement, except for the part where you're fighting to make the world a better place."

"All I can say after the disgusting display tonight of favoritism towards the mediocrity that is David A. - good luck trying to market and make money off of that kid, American Idol. (Not to mention good luck dealing with his father.) All the teeny boppers may buy up his American Idol coronation single, but they will quickly forget about him before the album comes out. And I shudder to think of a David A. album - song after song of unrelenting sameness and heavy breathing. Why they are pimping him for the win is beyond me."

"This show was simply a hot buttered mess tonight. And Jason "needs to be arrested for what he did to I Shot the Sheriff. But I hope he stays. He amuses me. "
